EquiPOS is a point-of-sale and stock system for shops. This page explains in plain words what information it keeps, where, and who else sees it.

Your shop's records stay on your computer

Your products, sales, customers, expenses and staff records are stored on the computer where EquiPOS is installed. We do not receive them just because you use the app, and we do not sell or share them.

What we receive from your computer

• Check-ins. The shop's name, the computer's code, the app version and the state of your plan, so we can tell which computers are running and keep licences accurate.
• Staff sign-ins. Usernames, roles and a scrambled version of each password (never the password itself), so a shop can recover its accounts on a new computer.
• Payments. When you pay for a plan: the phone number and transaction reference of the mobile money payment, so we can match it and activate your plan.
• Online backup, if switched on. A copy of your data that is encrypted on your computer before it is sent. We keep the encrypted file and give the key back only to a restore that proves it belongs to your shop.
• Daily report, if switched on. The owner's phone number (and email, if you give one) and a short summary of the day's figures, so we can text it to you.

Who else handles information for us

To send messages, we use outside services, and only the information needed to deliver the message goes to them:

• an SMS provider, to deliver text messages such as the daily report;
• an email provider, to send emails such as password resets and, if you asked for it, the daily report;
• a WhatsApp business messaging provider, if and when we switch on WhatsApp delivery of the daily report.

Your choices

• You can switch off online backup and the daily report in the app's settings.
• You can ask us to delete the information we hold about your shop, including backups and phone numbers. Write to info@equipos.site and we will do it and confirm.
